HOPE Club

The HOPE:  Help Our Planet Earth Club is the coalition of all environmentally-friendly girls at Bay View.  The purpose of HOPE is to reduce the negative effect our lives have on the planet Earth through stewardship and educating our peers about the correct use of Earth's ecosystems and resources.  Our initiatives will be for the benefit of all humanity, displayed through care and protection of our natural environment, in conformity with the mission of the Sisters of Mercy.  And, we have fun!

Achievements:  HOPE is a new club this year, but already we have begun a community-wide recycling program, hosted a Environmental Fair, and a few of our officers have attended the Rhode Island Sustainable Schools Summit to learn more about some great "green" things to do at Bay View.

Who May Join:  Students in Grades 9 - 12, and hopefully a Middle School division will begin soon!

How Do I Join:  Come to a meeting!  Preferably the first one in September.

Meetings/Duties:  We meet every Friday morning at 7:45 am before homeroom.

Activities:  Planning and acting on "greening" projects, educating the school about our initiatives, and organizing fundraisers to finance our projects.
