
It is the desire of the Physical Education Department to nurture in each student the self-esteem which develops from being in one’s best physical condition. To this end, we endeavor to provide opportunities for all students to reach beyond the range of normal physical activity and thus to establish a life long commitment to wellness. We encourage an awareness of the benefits in maintaining a balance between physical activity and healthy social practices and values. We seek to instill in the women with whom we interact, an appreciation for the intrinsic connection between self-motivation, self-discovery, self-improvement, and physical fitness. We provide a program that challenges and promotes healthy social behaviors through recreation.
